The Imperial Art Academy was an art body founded in 1919 under the Minister of Education. Its role was to answer enquiries on art, to make proposals, and to hold the government exhibition (the Teiten). It continued until 1937 and was the forerunner of the Imperial Art Academy (Teikoku Geijutsuin).
