Kawai Gyokudo
Kawai Gyokudo (1873-1957) was a Japanese-style painter from Aichi, who studied under Hashimoto Gaho and others. He dedicated his life to depicting Japanese people’s heart by expressing human being and nature with simple but poetical touch. He is regarded as one of the three great masters of Japanese-style painting with Yokoyama Taikan and Takeuchi Seiho.
