Ono Chikkyo
In 1906 he went to Kyoto and entered the school of Seiho Takeuchi. In 1909 he entered the newly established supplementary course of the Kyoto Municipal Special School of Painting (now Kyoto City University of Arts) together with Bakusen Tsuchida. In 1918 he formed the Kokuga Sosaku Kyokai with Kagaku Murakami and Bakusen Tsuchida. In 1923 he changed his name to “Chikkyo”. In 1928 the Kokuga Sosaku Kyokai was dissolved for want of funds. In 1950 he became a professor at the Kyoto Municipal Special School of Fine Arts. Standing director of the Nitten; recipient of the Order of Culture.
