Yoshii Isamu
In 1909 the magazine “Subaru” was founded around Ogai Mori, and he edited it in turn with Takuboku Ishikawa and Banri Hirano. In March of that year he published the play “Three in the Afternoon” in “Subaru”. In 1915 Shinchosha published his poetry collection “Gion Kashu”, with a binding by Yumeji Takehisa; from about this time his collections appeared more frequently. After a period of retirement in Tosa he moved to Kyoto, and the manner of his poetry changed greatly. In August 1948 he became a member of the Japan Art Academy.
