(Utagawa) Hiroshige
Ukiyo-e artist; a pupil of Toyohiro Utagawa. His views of famous places, composed with skill using perspective and contrasts of near and far, are much admired abroad as well. Among his best-known works are “The Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido”, “Famous Places of the Eastern Capital” and “One Hundred Famous Views of Edo”.
