He studied under Ryushi Kawabata and showed repeatedly at the Seiryu exhibition; after the Seiryusha disbanded he worked as an unaffiliated painter, chiefly through solo exhibitions. His closely constructed pictures draw out the passing seasons of Japan with much poetry. He received the Excellence Prize at the third Yamatane Museum of Art exhibition.
