Ryokan
宝暦8(1758)越後~天保2(1831)越後 曹洞宗の僧侶、歌人、書家。号は大愚。俗名、山本栄蔵。出家後、備中玉島(現:岡山県倉敷市)の円通寺の国仙和尚に師事する。印可を受けた後、諸国を行脚し、生涯寺を持たず、無一物の托鉢生活を営む。その無欲恬淡な性格からか、老若男女を問わず、あらゆる階層から親しまれた。良寛は和歌の他、狂歌、俳句、俗謡、漢詩に巧みで、書も能くした。
