She lives with cats and she paints them. A third solo exhibition in Japan for Chen Pei-Yi, the finest painter of cats in Asia.
Behind the work lies a deep reading of art history, and it shows in the tender exactness with which she treats ordinary things. The beauty of the result is something close to miraculous.
Books, tote bags, stickers, postcards and badges from a capsule machine will also be available.

チン・ペイイ「點心前的儀式」
「猫を描く場合、やさしく絵筆を下ろしながら猫の毛の模様とふわふわとする感触を描いていきます。また、織物が好きなので、オリジナルな方法で岩絵具を積み重ねて彫刻のような立体とした表現をしています。ゆっくりと絵具を重ね、ひたすら点と線にすることに専念して描き続け、織物を仕上げています。」（チン・ペイイ）
Chen Pei-Yi
Chen Pei-Yi completed a master degree of Fine Arts, Donghai University and B.S degree at Department of Visual Arts Education, National Pingtung University. Ikenaga Yasunari has been paid attention to her who paints cats with the style of Japanese paintings. Especially her recent works of cats and carpets with amazing minute brushwork becomes very popular in Taiwan.
