The theme of my new works “Rising Plum Blossoms”,”Evidence”,”Boundary”is reborn, especially spiritual rebirth. Even those things which look like disappearing could rejuvenate by strong living will. When I saw the lithering plants revitalize or people who once lost the will to live returned with strong ambitions for the future, I found that humans and plants are so much the same.

Toko Okamoto
Born in Kyoto and earned a MFA degree in Japanese Style Painting from the Tokyo University of the Arts, Okamoto Toko is a Japanese painter who looks straight at the essence of what she is painting, especially the delicacy of women depicted with refinement as if you could feel the temperature, humidity and the air rising from the surface of the work, a mysterious world created by her great artistic senses. It is hard not to be captivated by her intense and amazing works.

Times brings changes to our bodies and minds which are the proof of being alive. I put all these changes on the clothes which means that I cherish the present moment while still travelling forwards.
