Okamoto is probably trying to find out the essence of women inside herself. It is an image of female before it is named “women”. While protruding ambiguously from the role of “women”, the women in her works have presence with sexy appearance. How far does her journey reach, to find the essence of the beauty? 岡本は、おそらく、自分の中にある、女としての本質を探ろうとしている。

それはまだオンナ、と名付けられる前の、魂のありかとしての女性像なのだろう。色っぽいような気だるいような岡本の描く空間と女性は、オンナいう役割から曖昧にはみ出しながら、暗闇に存在感を漂わせている。

そこに美のありかの本質を探そうとする彼女の旅が、どこまで行き着くのか。私たちは期待しながら見守っている。（秋華洞 田中千秋）
