A. Gallery SHUKADO opened in 2005 as an online shop and gallery, set up to present the traditional art of Japan — painting above all — carefully, beautifully and in terms anyone can follow. It is run by SHUKADO Co., Ltd.

The name SHUKADO carries the image of painting as brilliant as a field in autumn. We also keep a gallery of our own, Gallery SHUKADO, in Ginza 6-chome.

SHUKADO Co., Ltd. (formerly Art Office JC) was founded by the late Tanaka Jichiro, who worked for more than forty years as a dealer in Japanese art and in rare antiquarian books, together with Tanaka Chiaki, who had until then been a systems engineer.
